ALF promotes education, advocacy, support services and research for the prevention, treatment and cure of liver disease. ALF Rocky Mountain provides a wide variety of these services including information and referral, education programs, support groups, exciting fundraising events, and an array of volunteer opportunities.

Hepatitis C Antibody Testing…
is offered at the Liver Health Connection office and at various community sites and events during the year.
- We offer FREE testing in house to anyone that would like a test.
- It is recommended for individuals born between 1945 and 1965 or to anyone who:
- Received blood or blood products before 1992
- Injected drugs and/or snorting equipment– even once, ever!
- Have or had a sexual partner who is hepatitis C positive
- Had a tattoo or piercing done in an unprofessional setting (prison, home, etc.)
We also provide referrals to testing sites throughout Colorado.

Pueblo
Colorado HIV/AIDS Prevention Program (CHAPP)
The CHAPP contract consists of HIV/HCV education and testing and PrEP Outreach, Education, Marketing, and Navigation in Pueblo CO. We are focused on Crossroads Turning Points, but will also be providing HIV/HCV testing and PrEP Outreach to other community based organizations in the Pueblo area. Provide information, materials, and referrals regarding PrEP
Patient Navigation Services for HCV (also has resources for HIV)
- Provide education, testing and risk reduction counseling to high-risk individuals
- Assist in applying for Medicaid or other insurance
- Provide direction in obtaining confirmatory/genotype testing needed for hepatitis C
- Explain labs results; diagnosis and refer to a specialist/PCP
- Provide information regarding other liver conditions such as HBV, NASH*, Liver Cancer and where you can get help
- Assist you in scheduling appointments with PCP’s/specialists
- Provide transportation assistance
- Share information and other community resources such as financial assistance, patient assistance programs, referrals for substance abuse and/or mental health services
Support Groups
Support groups provide a place for individuals affected by a similar condition or circumstance to provide and receive support and share their experiences.
Not all support groups are facilitated by a medical professional. Some support groups are facilitated by 3rd party organizations and individuals in this region.

NASH (Nonalcoholic Steatohepatitis) With Fibrosis
Western States Clinical Research, Inc.
The purpose of this study is to evaluate whether the investigational product can cause fibrosis regression. The primary objective is to prevent progression of cirrhosis and associated complications in subjects with NASH (Nonalcoholic Steatohepatitis) and bridging (F3) fibrosis.
Key Eligibility/Criteria:
- Be between the ages of 18-70 years’ old
- Diagnosis of NASH with F3 Fibrosis; as evident by a liver biopsy obtained during study screening or documented within past 6 months of the study screening visit.
- Not have another cause of liver disease, such as: alcoholic liver disease, hepatitis B, hepatitis C, liver disease caused by an autoimmune disorder, or drug-induced hepatoxicity.
- Not have had a liver transplant
- Not have a history of cancer in the past 5 years (with the exception of adequately treated cervical CIS & select skin cancers)
- Not have an unstable heart condition
